About the company

Eleven years of getting finish packages across the line.

Grupo Fevasa LLC was formed in Northbrook in 2014 to solve one recurring problem: commercial finish material that arrives late, short, or in the wrong dye lot.

Origin

Started on the contractor’s side of the table.

Cathy Corona spent nine years as a project manager for a Chicago interiors contractor before founding Grupo Fevasa. She had watched the same failure repeat on job after job: a finish package treated as a commodity purchase until the week it needed to be installed, at which point everyone discovered the porcelain was on a boat and the carpet had been discontinued.

Fevasa was set up as the opposite of that. We buy early, we hold stock, and we treat the submittal package as a deliverable rather than paperwork. The company opened with a leased bay off Skokie Boulevard and two employees. Today we operate 38,000 square feet of climate-controlled warehouse space, maintain a resource library of more than 2,200 finishes, and support roughly 90 active projects at any given time.

We have stayed deliberately regional. Every job we take is close enough that someone from our team can be standing on it the same day.

Operating principles

Four rules we do not bend.

01

Quote what we can deliver

We do not price material we have not confirmed with the mill. A number you cannot build to is worse than no number at all.

02

Bad news travels fast

If a container slips, you hear it the day we hear it, with two alternates already priced. Silence is the expensive option.

03

Document the hand-off

Takeoffs, dye lots, moisture readings, field reports. Everything in writing so the next person does not have to guess.

04

Stay after turnover

Attic stock logged, care protocol written, warranty registered. The relationship does not end at substantial completion.

Leadership

Who you will actually be working with.

Owner & Principal

Cathy Corona

Founded Grupo Fevasa in 2014 after nine years managing interior fit-out projects in the Chicago market. Reviews every contract over 10,000 square feet and handles owner-direct accounts personally.

Director of Operations

Warehouse & logistics team

Runs receiving, staging, dye-lot control and delivery scheduling out of Northbrook. Coordinates release schedules directly with site superintendents.

Specification desk

Technical services

Product research, substrate assessment, CSI-formatted spec language, sustainability documentation and submittal preparation for design teams.

Responsibility

Sustainability and safety, stated plainly.

Material transparency

We supply Environmental Product Declarations, Health Product Declarations and recycled-content data with any product we quote, when the manufacturer publishes them. Where documentation does not exist, we say so rather than approximating.

Waste reduction

Off-cuts and pallets are separated at our warehouse and at the job site. Reclaimable carpet tile goes back to manufacturer take-back programs. Overage is returned to stock rather than landfilled where the product line permits.

Field safety

Crews working under our installation management operate to an OSHA 10 minimum, with site-specific hazard review before mobilization and adhesive VOC limits verified against the project specification.
